Don Lowe Hugging his guitar

£After years spent “lost in the wilderness” of music and commerce ( i.e. building and running a music venue in Larchmont, NY, the famed Watercolor Cafe), Bruce T. Carroll has returned to his roots and his first and abiding love: lyric songwriting. With the release of his first official album, Ruckus and Romance, Bruce has forged a new career as a singer-songwriter using irony and imagery as tools in trade, like shoeing a horse…Bruce has been sharing the stage with a host of notable folk poets in the last year, including Ellis Paul, Slaid Cleaves, Jimmy LaFave, and Dan Bern, and has played all the classic rooms in the Hudson Valley including The Towne Crier, The Falcon, and The Turning Point, with occasional forays into NYC with his band to play The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall…Bruce was recently selected by John Platt to anchor one of his vaunted “On Your Radar” broadcasts on WFUV, and can be heard regularly on WVKR, WPWL, WFUV, and the newly launched internet radio station “Radio Free Bernstein”! Bruce is currently working on a new project (a 5 song EP recorded live at Buffalo Stack Studio in Beacon, NY), and hopes to tour regionally in early’18…Bruce is happy to be sharing the stage this evening with his friend and songwriting guru, the wonderful Don Lowe!

Don Lowe has been featured in venues across the USA and has opened for national acts such as The Little River Band, Livingston Taylor, Steve Forbert, Kenny White, Toby Walker, Tim Grimm, Danielle Miraglia, David Jacobs-Strain, Johnny A, The Dana Fuchs Band, and Maria Sebastian among many others. His brand of Americana music explores life with songs that are in turns witty, arcane, sad, and sometimes, downright silly.   Since 2010, he has been the open mic host for the venerable Towne Crier Café now located in Beacon, NY and he hosts a radio show, “LOCAL HEROES: Independent Music of the Greater Hudson Valley and Beyond…”  for WPWL, Pawling Public Radio that features local independent musical artists. Don’s second CD, Out Here, was released in September 2013 and his first release, Dogs, Clowns, and Belles came out in 2010.
